Sticky Rice restaurant

This is a Thai restaurant. This is the signature dish of the restaurant but I've not tried it. Sticky Rice is a dessert of glutinuous rice paired with either mango or durian and topped with coconut milk. The other dishes that I've tried are rather good though.

The only setback is the prices, as there is a 10% service charge included. Well, it's probably for the decor, service and utensils. Indeed, the decor is modern, in colours of red and black, the service is exemplary (for lack of another word) and the cutlery is elegant; polished-looking.

I recommend Pad Thai and Pineapple Rice at $8.90 each. These signature dishes of Thailand are fragrant and tasty, though the former made me feel fuller. What I like about the rice is the generous amount of pork floss topping it. There are condiments like pound peanuts, sugar, chilli flakes and soya sauce which are served in little containers placed in a steel rack, served together with the dishes.

Pandan Chicken at $5.90 is made up of 2 pieces of chicken marinated in various spices and wrapped in pandan leaves. There is peanut sauce served with it. Otah is fish paste marinated in spices as well. There are 3 pieces wrapped in banana leaves and served with coconut milk. Son-in-Law Eggs is actually 3 hard-boiled eggs fried and served in a thick, dark sauce. The famous Thai Fishcake though isn't really that good.

Ginger Tea at $2.90 is another recommendation. The flavour is intense and the tea thick, especially good for digestion after eating such heady flavours.

Chicken with Honeydew Soup is really a refreshing and delicious option. There are rather big pieces of the fruit served in the soup and not pulp or small pieces. They give the soup its sweet and refreshing taste. Stir-fried Mixed Vegetables is a simple dish of different types of vegetables but it still is tasty.

There is more of a crowd on weekends and expatriates make up some of the customers.
