Caesar's Salad, Bun Susi and Japanese Corn Soup

I tried the Caesar's salad at Delifrance, which cost $5.50. I did not ask for extra toppings and though I ordered the small size, it was substantial as a light dinner.

This salad looks plain with vegetables, bread cubes and bacon bits but is scrumptious in taste. When mixed with salad dressing which is neither too watery nor too thick, these ingredients become a lethal combination. The bread cubes especially, are crispy and delightful to bite into.

Unfortunately, I did not have more time to fully savour the salad. Still, I finished every bit of it.

Another place that has this salad is Cold Storage. Yep, you did not read it wrongly. Cold Storage does sell Caesar's Salad. The salad leaves are already washed and packed in a disposable bowl, together with bread cubes and the dressing in separate bags. A pair of fork and spoon is also included. It costs $3+. Surprisingly, it does taste rather good. The bread cubes are crispy and the dressing tastes authentic, removing my scepticism towards such ready-made salads sold in supermarkets.

I saw something which I've not eaten for ages - Roasted Chicken Bun. I bought it and ate it on the spot. It was nostalgic and still as yummy as ever. It is also known as Char Siew Bun or Bun Susi. It is chicken cooked in Char Siew style and put in a bun which has a slightly crispy crust, and is soft and fluffy inside.

7-11 has changed its soup variation to Japanese Corn Soup. It costs $1.50. It is worth trying at least once because it is not too salty but has more of a sweet taste due to the corn. When it is raining or you just feel horrid within, it is a good antidote.
