Foodie Recommendations

There's this 24-hour coffeeshop selling mostly Indian food in Serangoon Gardens. Many friends have told me the prata is superb but I just shrugged it off till I tried the Masala Prata for $1.50. Wow, is it exquisite man!

Yes, prata is fattening but psychologically speaking, this particular one contains vegetables and so you don't feel so guilty eating it. Haha. They do provide gravy but it's really good enough to be eaten on its own. You will have to wait for your order because they do it on the spot but it's worth the wait. A word of advice: if you are afraid of gaining weight from eating it, then eat it once in a while!

In an entry written 2 months back, I mentioned not wanting to eat Japanese pizza ever again. Well, the urge to eat it came back but not if it is cooked by a Chinese. When I saw a stall at a pasar malam, I was excited till I saw that it was cooked by a Chinese. *Blergh*

I saw another at the Hari Raya pasar malam at the Malay Village. I pounced upon it since it was cooked by a Malay. There was another stall but I saw a Chinese man behind the counter so that was off-limits! Well, here's the verdict!

I have tasted better ones. Perhaps because it had been cooked earlier and left to cool, it tasted sort of dry. Also, they gave too much egg but less of cabbage and crabstick or salmon, depending on what you order. They were generous with their fish flakes and gave just the right amount of mayonnaise and ketchup though. Oh well. It still tasted better than the one cooked by a Chinese lady!
